Does the food you eat really matter to you? To answer this simply...yes. Food is not just an object that people eat for mundane (ordinary) reasons. People eat for many reasons such as boredom, depression, anxiety, etc. But suprisingly besides what people actually believe eating healthy is not the same as not eating. People think that to eat healthy or "diet" you need to not eat your favorite foods and only eat small amounts of food. In actuality what eating healthy includes is eating smart. Eating smart means choosing that vegetable sub over that greasy double cheese burger, choosing the small snack bag of pretzels rather that a whole bag of chips. Eating healthy is more about having more energy and staying healthy than losing those pounds. People always think of "diets" as the same thing, eat healthy, eat less, carbs are the enemy and so on. But some diets are different, some diets don't cut out your favorite foods but rather give suggestions for what to eat when your unsure, about having 2 pieces of pizza instead of the whole thing, some diets have guidelines but aren't so strict they don't allow you to have a snack every once and a while. Some healthy guide lines are very general and here is an example at http://www.helpguide.org/life/healthy_eating_diet.htm.
This guide line talks about limiting yourself so as to not eat unhealthy, the daily calories a person eats depends on their physical activity. The key part of any healthy life style is simple, drink lots of water!!! A human body is composed of about 75% water and water is used in the bodies system to remove waste. Most Americans actually go through life without enough water. The best advice that could be given for a person starting this diet is take it slow. Changing years and years of habit all at once is hard, so try just trying 1 new food each week and in no time at all your life will be healthier and you will have more energy. So to answer the question does the food you eat really matter to you? Well, i'll let you be the judge of that...

This is a good article. I agree that you should start diets slowly and that everybody has a different amount of calories that they should ingest daily. I liked how you said to eat smart
